Hickory Leaves
The Hickory leaves are from 6 to 10 inches long and usually have 7 or 9 leaflets shaped as shown.
The nuts are about 1 inch in diameter and the contents have a flavour that has fairly earned the name of Bitternut for this species.
The Bitternut Hickory has a bark which is much smoother than those of its close relatives. The Bitternut Hickory may reach 100 feet in height.
