This little mole, accustoms itself to habitats much more varied than the majority of other mammals of North America. He is more active during the night and eats ferociously more than his own weight in one day, insects, molluscs, worms and even carrion. Little interested in digging its own cave, it loans those of other small rodents. The mole does not hibernate. Each year, from spring to autumn, it gives birth to several sets of more than 10 kids. Average life span is one year.
