Well known for his great ability as a dam builder, the greatest rodent of North America. Builds a sommet with gravel and mud.. Then he fells trees, leaving a typical cone at the end; he pushes or floats the material to the dam site and assembles them with mud. Soon, he builds a pond; then the male and female beavers build a hut with wood and mud, leaving entrances under water, with a dry platform in the center. They stay there during the day and leave it during the evening to collect plants and trees. During the autumn, they collect plants and trees under water for the winter. The babys are born in spring and use the hut for two years.+
