You can find the Pink Lady’s Slipper – also called the Moccasin Orchid- at Breeches from mid-May till end of June.
The stalk or “scape” on which the single flower is carried grows to a height of 15 to 30 cm, and the lovely “slipper” may be 5 cm in length. There are two oval leaves of 15 to 20 cm in height at the base of the flower stalk.
The Pink Lady’s Slipper is protected as its numbers have been substantially reduced.
